Neck Pain

Your neck is made up of vertebrae that extend from the skull to the upper torso. Cervical discs absorb shock between the bones. The bones, ligaments, and muscles of your neck support your head and allow for motion. Any abnormalities, inflammation, or injury can cause neck pain or stiffness.

At Unique Fitness Sports Therapy, work with hundreds of people just like you who struggle with neck pain, and help them achieve better relief that lasts.

20% to 70% of adults will experience
neck pain that interferes with their
daily activities during their lifetime

Factors that influence neck pain include
ergonomics at work, physical activity,
repetitive movements, body weight,
diet and hydration and injury or illness

Men have a higher percentage of disc
problems (40%) than women (28%)
in cases of neck pain in individuals
aged 55-64

How We Treat NECK PAIN

Determining a treatment strategy depends mainly on identifying the location and cause of the pain. A more complex or continuing neck problem will require a therapy professional such as ourselves to perform and recommend treatments and therapies that will help.

Neck Pain Can Make Life Feel...

The neck is particularly vulnerable to injury, especially in falls, car accidents, and sports, where the muscles and ligaments of the neck are forced to move outside of their normal range.

If your neck bones are fractured, the spinal cord may also be damaged. Neck injury due to sudden jerking of the head is commonly called whiplash. If symptoms persist for more than a week, then you should book a visit to see us.

Between the vertebrae are discs of cartilage. The discs act as shock absorbers and give the spine its flexibility. A slipped disc occurs when one of these discs slips slightly out of its natural position in the spine.

Neck pain can make life feel pretty unbearable and affect your social life, family time, hobbies and even work productivity. Book your appointment today for assessment and treatment of your neck pain.
